Interesting choice of books:

Paul Polak's Out of Poverty, explains a new model for development and foreign aid (or in this case missions). His is oriented toward micro-enterprise for farmers and some attention is paid to homeless individuals. This book should really receive far, far more attention in Christian missions circles.

Design for the Other 90 percent details affordable products (aka Humanitarian Design) which can really help the poorest of the poor (those earning less than $2 per day)

I think for more business oriented crowd, the "Bottom of the Pyramid" by Prahalad is quite good.

I would definiately recommend that over Easterly's critique of development. Pauls book, to some extent encompasses the critique of development in his writings and practices.
